A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

A first edition of the finished version of: A matter of opinion: PRIDE

Made for the 'My First Game Jam: Summer' 2019 although technically the second game I've ever really made.

This version is the finished product at this stage. Generally the game should function well, however there are a couple of bugs I'm aware of, and likely some I'm not. I may end up polishing further in the future or adding extra levels / features. That is yet to be seen.

This is a slow paced experimental platformer which challanges not only platforming skills but your idea of pride. Go on a short journey into the depths of negativity or the heights of positivity and rethink your viewpoint.

Every animal / monster will 'kill' you, however, rest assured, there are no lives and no points. There are only exploritory opportunities in a short platformer with some replayability.

Any comments or discussions about game design, where I have done better or any bugs will be greatly appreciated!

hi i played your game! video here:

i thought it was an interesting little platformer and i enjoyed playing it! i thought the moods of the different aspects of pride were represented well :)

Hi fleece!

Thank-you very much for your playthrough. It was great seeing someone play it who has no idea about the project.

You're 100% right about the hit boxes. Unfortunately due to my inexperience I had to make them more or less 'standard' in the engine which obviously makes them a little oversized. Something I definitely want to polish in a future attempt when I have a little more  time and experience.

I'm glad you challenged the viewpoints of the messages. Honestly they weren't all as well written as I'd like. However, time restrictions and everything... It was great you also played through a couple of different paths and chose things a bit. That was the intention of the design after all.
